I'm Shilpa Malekar, founder and chief trainer at Diya Fashion Designing. Bachelor of Fashion Design from Bharathiar University. 24 years teaching, 2,000+ alumni, one steady belief: every woman who learns to design earns a future she controls.
Our journey
First student
Diya Fashion Designing opens. The first student enrols for tailoring, stitching and blouse designing.
Traditional crafts join
Kasuti and Ari work classes are added to the course list, bringing heritage embroidery into the studio.
1,000th student
A milestone year. We register our 1,000th student and watch the bell curve start to bend upward.
Digital footprint
We launch our website and start running digital campaigns. The studio's reach jumps beyond Hubli-Dharwad.
2,000th student
Another milestone. Two thousand women have walked through the studio and gone on to build skills, businesses, and lives.
2,500th student
Twenty-five years in, and the studio welcomes its 2,500th student. The dream keeps growing, one designer at a time.

I work with fashion enthusiasts and continue to teach and learn alongside them, the beautiful art of designing on cloth using threads, needles, and imagination. I plan my courses to help my students gain practical knowledge and start their careers as fashion entrepreneurs."
